A Fall From Grace Eight: Vertigo - Precard
March 23rd, 2007 - Seattle, Washington
Burn Your Bridges

(We return with Joel Cronus and Shawn Twilight along with Dan Timberland on commentary.)

Joel Cronus:  The following is a semi-final match up in the Matthew Attict Career Memorial Titan Title Tournament.  Introducing first…

(“Tear Away” from Drowning Pool ramps up.)

Joel Cronus:  A former two-time AOWF Television Champion and a top contender to the Liberty Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship…

(Tommy Riley comes down to ringside, his wrists are taped and he’s ready to go.)

Joel Cronus:  He is the Technician – he is TOMMY RILEY!

(The music dies down and is replaced by “Bulletproof Skin” from Institute.)

Joel Cronus:  And his opponent – from Las Vegas, Nevada…

(Surge comes  out from behind the curtain.)

Joel Cronus:  At two hundred and thirty pounds…

(He hops up  to the apron, a long glare for Tommy Riley as he enters through the middle ropes.)

Joel Cronus:  I give you Shawn Harris – SURGE!

*DING, DING*

Dan Timberland:  This semi-final match up is about to begin, and I have to say that I pleased to announce with Ransom in action tonight – Shawn Twilight will be here for some color commentary.

(The two circle each other momentarily.  Riley lunges in first and puts Surge into a headlock.)

Shawn Twilight:  Just like the good old days – right Dan?

Dan  Timberland:  What good old days?

(Surge pushes off.  The two circle up and now Surge takes advantage with a headlock.  He pushes Riley into the ropes, who ducks under a lariat attempt and dropkicks Surge to the canvas.)

Dan Timberland:  Riley taking to the air a little early here.  Not normally within his strategy.

Shawn Twilight:  Well, I think he wants this one to end quickly; he’s got the big main event against Vicious for the AOWF Television Championship.

Dan Timberland:  No holds barred, to say the least.

Shawn Twilight:  That’s probably the least you could say.

(Riley throwing Surge into the ropes.)

Dan Timberland:  Surge into the ropes…

(He punches at his midsection a handful of times.  Riley takes a few steps back and charges in with a vicious splash.)

Dan Timberland:  Riley taking a high angle there with that shot – definitely changing up his game plan from the norm.

Shawn Twilight:  You know, Riley and I have had a shaky road over the last couple months.  Same with Jeffery Drake.  I doubt he wants to get in either of our grills.

Dan Timberland:  Grills?

Shawn Twilight:  Yeah, I‘m hip G.

(Riley throws Surge face first into the mat.  He drops a couple knees to the small of Surge's back.)

Dan Timberland:  There’s the tactical edge that got Riley into the main event at this years Fall From Grace – his second year in a row.

Shawn Twilight:  I don’t even think I did – and the event was kind of branded in my honor.

Dan Timberland:  Your honor?

Shawn Twilight:  Well according to the Lee family representative not named Ransom – no one remembers the guy who things were really named after.

(Riley pulls up Surge and hits a running powerslam.  He stays on top for the cover.)

Dan Timberland:  We’ve got a count!

Dan Timberland:  NO! Not quite.

(Surge gets a shoulder up.)

Dan Timberland:  Riley almost moved on to the final round – wait there’s some commotion over there.

(West Indiez comes down to ringside, evoking a reaction from the crowd.  Riley stomping away at the fallen Surge.)

Shawn Twilight:  Aww… it’s one of our newer signees.  West Indiez.

Dan Timberland:  He almost looks sober – that’s a plus.  Riley keeping up the attack on Surge in the ring.

(Riley gets caught with a low blow from Surge – who's looking for anyway to change the momentum of the match.)

Dan Timberland:  Surge taking advantage of the no-DQ rule in all of these Titan Title Tourney matches.  He’s come a long way through this without actually doing too much.  Riley is certainly his biggest challenge to date.

Shawn Twilight:  After the sheer disappointment of the lack of Matthew Attict – I sympathize with Surge a lot more.  He was built up for the main event, but never got it.

(Indiez stopping just outside the ring watching on, with something concealed within his jacket.)

Dan Timberland:  West Indiez lingering on the outside there – he’s certainly up to no good.

Shawn Twilight:  Easy there Dan – I don’t want any racial profiling on one of my television programs.  Especially something as prestigious as the Fall From Grace Precard.

(Riley grimacing in pain and loss of breath, Surge takes opportunity and drops him with a jumping DDT.  He hooks a leg on a cover.)

Dan Timberland:  He spiked him with that one!  Another cover attempt.

Dan Timberland:  NO!

(Surge staying up on the attack whips Riley into the ropes, as he rebounds back Surge jumps around with a hanging sleeper hold.)

Dan Timberland:  And Surge slowing things down here with a sleeper.

Shawn Twilight:  Not a bad strategy – we’ve had our eyes on Shawn Harris since his debut, we’ve been happy with how far he’s come along.

(Riley struggling with the hold.)

Shawn Twilight:  And Riley – well Riley’s a disappointment if he can’t pull out at least one victory in his three matches the next two weeks.

Dan Timberland:  Well two of those matches are EXTREMELY high profile – that’s demanding a lot out of him.

Shawn Twilight:  He attacks a Charm – he’s got to expect that his demands in “returned talent” will be high.

(Riley backs Surge hard into the corner, knocking him off his back.  He then jumps back with a fiery elbow to the jaw of Surge, dropping him to his ass in the corner.)

Dan Timberland:  Riley with that sharp blow – it may have just put him back in control here.

(Riley charges in and knees Surge to the face.)

Dan Timberland:  Another violent shot to Surge’s face!

Shawn Twilight:  Things aren’t looking good.

(Tommy setting up Surge for a waistlock suplex, and connects.  He stays over and covers.)

Dan Timberland:  Great execution the cover there – another attempt at victory!

2

Dan Timberland:  NO!  He kicked out at the last possible moment.  What's this now?

(Indiez up on the apron waiting for Surge to get to his feet.  He reveals a lead pipe that he had been obscuring.)

Shawn Twilight:  Looks like Indiez is tired of the hands being dealt to him and he’s about to take some initiative.

Dan Timberland:  Does he have to take that initiative DURING the match though?

(Upon standing up, Surge gets nailed with a shot from the pipe.)

Dan Timberland:  Surge with the pipe to the head – he’s out instantly!

(Riley gesturing at Indiez to back away from the apron, he gets hit with a lead pipe shot of his own.)

Dan Timberland:  And now Riley is down!?!

Shawn Twilight:  That may be going a little overboard.  May.

(Swifkicky now over demanding that Indiez give up the pipe (heh).  He receives a shot to the head as well, all three are down in the ring as Indiez tosses the pipe aside and walks out casually.)

Dan Timberland:  He's left nothing to live in there!

Shawn Twilight:  I think my presidential bat signal just went off.

(Twilight slides into the ring, pulls Surge on top of Riley.  He starts slamming his hand to the canvas.)

*DING, DING*

Dan Timberland:  What the hell?

(Twilight waits right next to Riley to come to.  He waves at him and then slides back out of the ring to the commentary table.)

Dan Timberland:  Why did you just do that?

Shawn Twilight:  Executive decision.  Now Surge is in the finals – and Riley can concentrate on more important things, like not getting up in my business.

Dan Timberland:  But-

(Surge limps around for a bit – and then runs off to the backstage area, probably to confront Indiez.)

Shawn Twilight:  How about we take a quick break?

Dan Timberland:  We don't even have a break scheduled for right now – and I've got like a million more questions about what just happened here.

Shawn Twilight:  Well they're going to have to wait – we can go another minute without reminding folks that we're just over two weeks away from a Fall From Grace 8 – Vertigo!

Dan Timberland:  But…

(Jump cut and out to a break.)
