(Just outside the Firestone Fieldhouse on the campus of Pepperdine University in Malibu, California stands Jeffery Drake, new co-owner of Liberty Wrestling and Shawn Twilight, old co-owner of Liberty Wrestling. They are wading through the cars in the parking lot, with the camerawoman about ten feet in front of them.)
Shawn Twilight: It’s like, you know… we’ve been here before. Tonight – tonight is the night where we stand up and thank those for sharing our vision – for rejoining us here for the third and final incarnation of the Liberty Wrestling Federation.
(They continue to walk through the cars. There are notably a number of sports still empty in the lot.)
Shawn Twilight: Final is correct. Today, the beginning of the new LWF – will also bring about the announcement of its closing.
(Drake is finally smiling.)
Shawn Twilight: A couple hairs past three years from today.
(The smile is immediately replaced.)
Shawn Twilight: That’s the time that it should take for us to pay off our debts, tie some loose ends and have the tenth and final Fall From Grace. Our agent likes round numbers. But that’s certainly not anything for any of you to worry about at the moment. Tonight’s Friday Night Fiction – the Retro Edition – takes us back through some of the important matches of the LWF’s past with sparkling new insight from our award winning commentary team of Dan Timberland and Ransom – special guest appearances – new announcements for upcoming cards – and a fresh new main event featuring old and new faces to the Liberty Wrestling Federation.
(They reach the front doors to the arena. Some fans waiting to get in see the camera and immediately start waving and jumping trying to get into the shot.)
Shawn Twilight: We’re going to make every night count from now until then – we thank you for tuning in and hope you enjoy. Jeff?
(They have walked through the entrance and started down towards ringside.)
Jeffery Drake (reluctantly): It’s Friday. And this is all Fiction.

(“Knights of Cydonia” from Muse heats up as the opening titles start. Past images of major LWF moments grace the screen. Styx and Mass Carnage delivering a spike piledriver on Nightshade from the LWF first ever card. Banshee and Jamie Williams tied up at a Fall From Grace 3: Heroes. Darren Ridel launching Chris Fox through an announcer’s table at Exit Music. From the LWF v2 re-opening, a Fall From Grace 7: Full Collapse, Tommy Riley beating Kevin Merrix for the AOWF Television Title. A collection of still imagery from past LWF stars: Thunderwolf and his golf club, November and his ego, Ethan Evans and his LWF Titan Title, Synskin battling Don Mega at FNF: Jailbreak, Brandon Nova soaked in blood with his arm raised – and finally some promotional shots of current LWF talent. The Seldons – Vicious – and Silverback with his LWF Intercontinental Championship. We then break from the montage to a live shot.)
(The Firestone Fieldhouse has the floor level sold out. Upper sections of the arena are blacked out – and probably wouldn’t be filled if the tickets were being given away. Which they were for the most part. Large television and an even larger projection screen are setup around the arena in preparation for the RETRO NIGHT – an examination of what was and what will be.)
(A two-shot of your hosts: Dan Timberland and Ransom. Timberland is dressed nicely as usual, he’s shaved his head and lost twenty pounds since you saw him last three years ago. Ransom is still bitter from the CWA fallout. He’s gained about twenty pounds in the last two weeks since it all went down.)
Dan Timberland: Welcome back to the LWF!
Ransom: I guess that last commercial break lasted a little longer than we expected to.
Dan Timberland: A couple years too long. But there’s plenty to look forward to – we’ll be going over some past big moments in Liberty Wrestling, an interview with a returning champion and have an interesting main event featuring some new and old blood to the LWF!
Ransom: Well, let’s just hope I can stay awake up until that point.
Dan Timberland: Really? I saw you poundin’ Seattle’s Finest all day long – you’ve got me soaked in caffeine.
Ransom: True. But I made the mistake of watching IWL’s Black Days from earlier this week before walking out to ringside.
(Ransom yawns heavily.)
Ransom: I’m literally having a civil war within my eye sockets trying to keep the lids from falling shut.
Dan Timberland: Well – if anything makes good television on a Friday Night and decent ratings – it’s a man continuously yawning for an hour.
(Ransom yawns again.)
Ransom: You know it.
Dan Timberland: We’ll be right back after the break.
(And cut.)
